Translated Poems  - Farrokh Tamimi

Alas...

Grafts

have lost their vegetable peace.

Vessels

in their died- up minds

are waiting for the flowing verdure

alas, what a black drought!

Sparrows

have flown away from the cage of the garden

listen a moment

the purple umbrella of  the locust-wings

interprets gospels of hunger

brings to mind the silos' compassion

alas, what a black drought.

Foxes

innocent, hungry foxes

are painting diamonds of grape clusters

on hungry vines.
